Using sport to inspire children to write
How do you inspire reluctant young writers to pick up their pencils? By harnessing something they already love – sport!
Pobble’s Literacy Through Sport programme uses sport to motivate pupils aged 7–12 , making literacy more fun and purposeful. The scheme has partnered with large sporting groups like Hotel Football, Manchester, Headingley Park Stadium to run days to inspire reluctant writers.
I worked with Pobble to create their sub brand and marketing materials to launch the exciting creative writing scheme.

The brand needs to work when supporting a range of sporting events. The simple logotype uses ‘building block’ typography which can be used in call-outs and marketing material to recognisable part of the bigger brand.
Photography features young people in high-energy sporting poses. Action lines and shapes give even more character to the imagery.
